The shrub reaches a height of 1.5 m and a width of 0.80 m.  Its medium-dark green leaves release a pleasant aroma when crushed.   This plant features tubular orange flowers arranged in tiered whorls, characteristic of the mint family, which surround the square stems.   During the summer, these flowers stand out above the dense foliage.
